I'm not sure exactly why I do this but once or twice a year, I Google myself. I guess I just want to see if there is anything out there with my name on it on the internet. Come on, I'm sure you've all done it a time or two as well.
Well, I just did and thankfully I did NOT find myself..even by page # 10 of Google, I did see plenty of other interesting Leah A's out there. It's a little disturbing and slightly creepy that there are so many women out there in the world with my name. Wonder how many Leah A's there really are... So, just tonight, I saw a pretty well known photographer, a few doctors, a minister, a wrestling manager, a teacher, a real estate agent, a fiber artist and sadly even a little 3 year old baby that passed away in September. I even found a blog dedicated to this guy's love of a girl with my name! It's literally all about her and the fact that he can never be more than her friend. And yes, trust me, it's not about me! Wouldn't that be hilarious if it was though?! : )
So, when was the last time you googled yourself? Go ahead, you know you want to check it now.
It really is kind of crazy how many different people out there wear your exact same moniker. Makes you wonder if they are anything like you. Or it does me, anyways. My husband seeks out and destroys any webpage link that he finds himself on. So "big brother" can't track him. heh.

Googling self.. Well the last time I did was some two months ago when my band performed in some pubs and bars around New Delhi. I thought we did pretty well but Unfortunately no one bothered to write anything about me or the band... LOL
ReplyDeleteThere is someone with my exact name, first and last, in the same town as me!! And I don't exactly have a common name. So, when I google myself, all of her stuff comes up, including some pageants she was in (ha! ha!), and I don't show up until at least page 6! That's fine by me!
ReplyDeleteI Google myself from time to time, and I know it's always something about me, because I'm the only person in the world with my name. Stupid unique name. I would tell you what it is, but then it becomes very, very easy to find me.

ReplyDeleteI have a couple of credits on IMDB.com, so that makes me happy that it pops up, but the first link that shows up is my Facebook page. This doesn't bother me. I guess I am not that private of a person. :)
