This past weekend in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Gina and I walked through a ton of art galleries on the well-known Canyon Road. This painting in particular really spoke to Gina and I. Sadness was the first thing we both felt when we looked at it. I think it looks like she just had a fight with her boyfriend and she wants to lay on the couch for awhile and not think about it. I could go on but this is for "Wordless Wednesdays" so I'll stop here.
What do you think of this painting?
I think she needs a blankie....looks like an amazing couch to snuggle up and sleep on...but a soft, warm blankie would make it all better...including the "fight with boyfriend" thing. :)
ReplyDeleteI think it is a mommy who had to stay up all night with her fevering little boy and now that he has finally gone to sleep she crashed on the couch. Great picture!
ReplyDeleteIt speaks volumes to me too and I probably would have bought it.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture! I think she's just plain exhausted! I guess I can relate because that is me almost every night on the couch. Although I wish mine was as comfy as this one looks.
ReplyDeleteYeah I wanted to buy it Tonya but I think it was $2,300! Remind me to tell you what the back story is on the painting.
ReplyDeleteLeah, I agree about the sadness, especially since her body is turned toward the back of the couch instead of forward. It looks like she wants to block out the world for a little while.
