Guest Posting

Today I'm guest posting over at my sister's sweet blog, Letters for Lucas. It's a weekly series, Letters for You, that she started a month or so ago where you write a meaningful letter to someone in your life. It's such a perfect series for her blog since a lot of Tonya's blog are like letters to her own 2 year old son, Lucas.

For my letter this week, I decided to write to my parents. Indeed, I would send it to them if there was a way.
Thank you Tonya for asking me to be a part of your series. It felt good getting those words out. Please hop on over to her blog and read my letter, Since You've Been Gone. Bring some Kleenex.

The Quote

Many years ago, my sister sent this quote to me in a card and it has really stuck with me ever since. I now have the card framed and it sits in my living room today. Last night I walked by it and stood for a moment to read it again. It still has the same profound effect over me today that it did so many years ago when I first read it. I think that I try with all my heart to live just as the quote says. I really do live as if this is all there is. Do you?

The Call I'll Never Forget

"She got the call today. One out of the gray. And when the smoke cleared it took her breath away. She said she didn't believe this could happen to me. Guess we're all one phone call from our knees". -Mat Kearney

This week's Mama Kat's writing prompt that I chose was "A phone call you won't forget".

"Wait, what?! You want me to call her and tell her?! I...How? I can't do this....Tell her?.. Oh my God." This is what I said to the director of my parents school when he asked me to call my sister and tell her the devastating news that our parents had died but the cause of death was unknown. How the f**k was I going to do that? I didn't even understand it myself, how could I possibly explain it to her?

It was a Sunday night or rather 2AM on Monday morning. I just had a very fun and exciting first weekend living in Phoenix, Arizona. Two close college girlfriends had driven down from Tucson, to spend the weekend with me. Two long nights out in the Phoenix club scene ensued. Coupled with plenty of cocktails and not enough sleep, I was exhausted and ready for Monday. I had an exciting job interview at 10AM and was psyched to begin my new Phoenix adventure. Having just graduated from college, I felt more than ready to start this new chapter of my life. Little did I know that that very same weekend across the world in North Africa, my parents had died. It's an intense sentence. I still can't believe the words that come out of my mouth.

When the phone rang that awful night, I'll never forget the awful sinking feeling I had in the pit of my stomach. When I looked at my phone light up, I instantly knew it was an overseas call and I had a feeling it was from Tunisia, where my parents were living at the time. I quickly answered the call that was to be my worst nightmare. It was Patrick, the director of my parents school in Tunis. He proceeded to very calmly and rationally tell me that my parents had just been found in their home and they were "gone". Yes, "gone" was his word of choice.

Needless to say, I don't really remember much else about this conversation. All I knew is that he had my sister's wrong number so I was given the nearly impossible responsibility of breaking the news to her.

I had to call her.

My world was quickly plummeting to the ground. Now I had to be the one to change my sister, Tonya's world forever too.

After I hung up the phone, I mentally prepared myself to call Tonya. But I didn't want to be alone...ever again. I frantically picked up a Kleenex box off my kitchen table, my cell phone, a pad of paper, a pen and my keys. I walked out the door of my apartment building to my friend Tracy and Lindsey's apartment which was thankfully just down the hallway. Tracy was and still is my dear friend and I needed her at that moment. I'm not sure how I got there but I finally did. I banged on their front door. They answered it together and I'm sure they could tell by my flushed cheeks and disheveled appearance that something was very wrong. "My parents are gone.. I can't do this... What am I going to do now? They think my parents are dead," I managed to blubber out. The girls instantly started crying and asking me questions I didn't have the answers to yet. "I have to call Tonya and Todd now." Tracy asked if I wanted her to call them for me. I said no, I had to be the one to do it.

So, the three of us sat together on their living room couch, with me in the middle with their arms wrapped around me. I slowly breathed in and out a few times and thought of Tonya asleep in bed next to her husband of only three short months still happy and content in that world where I was too up until 20 minutes ago. I hated having to grab her from that wonderful world. But I had to.

There was certainly a part of me that couldn't handle being alone with this information any longer. I needed her. I needed my sister.

I dialed Tonya's number. She didn't answer. I called her husband Todd's cell phone. He answered. "Hi Todd. I'm sorry it's so late." He said, "That's OK Leah. What's wrong?" "Todd, I don't know how to say this... Something has happened. I need you and Tonya to both listen to me." I took a deep breath and fought back the tears. I took Tracy's hand with my free hand and held on tightly. "Mom and Dad have died. The director of their school just called me. They don't know anything..." I could hear the tears forming in Tonya and Todd's voices. I felt a small sense of relief. It was done, they knew. I wasn't alone anymore. I told them to call Patrick. He was expecting their call and would try answering their questions. Tonya said that she would call me back with more information. Before hanging up, she asked me to stay with Tracy and that she loved me very much. We were both hoping this wasn't true and that a massive misunderstanding had just happened. All I knew is that she would call Tunis and figure everything out. Our questions would soon be answered, at least some of them.

Hearing the news that my parents had died will always remain the worst moment of my life, but definitely the hardest thing that I've ever had to do was making that phone call and sharing this news with my sister and brother in-law. I hope she feels like I did as good of a job as anyone could do under the circumstances. I sometimes wonder if she would have rather heard it from someone else. I worry that whenever I call her, she is nervous that I'm calling to give her bad news. Would I have preferred to have heard this from her? I'm not really sure. A sad phone call is a sad phone call no matter who does the calling. If anything I wish that I could have somehow spared Tonya this new world without our parents just as she wishes she could have spared me from it.

31 Day Photo Challenge-Day 14

31 Day Photo Challenge-Day 14: Post a picture of someone you could never imagine your life without.

I could never imagine my life without a lot of people! Yikes, how am I supposed to pick just one person?!

Well, I definitely know that I wouldn't be who I am today without my wonderful sister. She is my rock and I know that I can always count on her. We've been through our ups and down this year but I know that in the end, she is going to be there for me. We are sisters through and through and I love her dearly. This is a picture taken of her and my other favorite person, her son and my beloved nephew Lucas at Disneyland last week.

Thoughts on Moving...

Last night I had an interesting conversation with my sister about the pros and cons of moving. She moved yesterday and of course has mixed feelings about it. Take a look at her sweet and thoughtful post yesterday about the big move. It certainly got me teary eyed.

Sure, there are so many wonderful things about moving to a new place but you certainly can't ignore all the memories left behind at the old residence. Sappy as this may sound, it can be very hard to leave that behind.

Places have such strong emotional attachments for me. As I looked around her house and took one last look at it before I left her house last night, I felt like I was saying goodbye to those memories as well. One very big event took place in that house; my sister's beautiful and intimate wedding was in August 2007. It was the last time my sister saw my parents alive and it was the last time we were altogether. I guess it was the last time I saw my parents happy. They were so happy that day. I'll never forget the dance party we had in the living room after most guests had gone home for the night. I've always felt comfortable and happy being in that living room. I am sure this memory is the reason why. Thankfully, we took plenty of pictures that night.

I dread the day that my sister and I finally sell our parents Summer home in Arizona. Talk about memories! Whew! Ok, enough about that....

When I moved here from Phoenix almost a year ago I was more excited than anything. Not only was I ready for a change of scenery but also a change of life. I was incredibly sad to leave all my wonderful friends in Phoenix but was excited for a whole new batch of LA friends. Living alone was fun but I was looking forward to having two roommates to spend time with. I was definitely over Arizona in general. I had lived there for 6 years and was dying to get out of that hot desert.

A lot of really great things have happened to me all because I moved to Los Angeles. Here are a few things that come to mind:
  • I started running. I really don't think that I would have if I had stayed in AZ. I also ran my first event here in LA, the Disneyland Half-Marathon.
  • I made two new best friends-my wonderful roomies! Ladies, I love ya!
  • I have traveled a ton thanks to my roommate Gina and her project, Pin-Ups For Vets.
  • I've been nannying/babysitting for a few adorable kids that I adore!
  • I've spent a ton more time with my family here in So Cal.
  • I have been able to meet up with several middle and high school friends here.
  • I've reconnected with two high school friends that live here in LA as well.
  • I've gone to several very cool concerts and a couple Broadway shows.
  • There have been some neat celeb sightings here.
  • I've had a lot of delicious dinners.
  • Spending time at the wonderful beach.
  • I truly believe that I've become a better driver since moving here.
  • I started this blog about my life here! My blogoversary is coming up next month! Yay!
  • A fancy/awesome job in the music industry-currently working on this one! : )
  • Being an audience member on Oprah's Favorite Things Episode..Hello?! Need I say more?!

Fill in The Blank Friday- Holiday Edition

So, I'm not in the Holiday mood at all yet so I thought this might help.

1.
The Holiday spirit is very slowly creeping up on me. Slow...ly. Today, in fact, I listened to one entire Christmas song in the car on the way to the gym. The month of December really just got here too soon and I'm not ready for it at all. I plan on doing a little Christmas shopping tomorrow. Wish me luck braving the mall! To me the Holiday spirit is really about giving and appreciating those people around you that you care about most.

2.
The holidays are incomplete without my family and friends. Of course there's also yummy food, the incredible Christmas music, the colder weather, the bright lights, the fun decorations, tall Christmas trees, and the colors red and green everywhere.

3. My favorite things to do around the holidays is finding the perfect gifts for everyone. There really is nothing like knowing you hit it on the nail. I love knowing that the person is going to be so delighted with whatever you picked out. I also really enjoy baking around this time of year.

4.
A holiday tradition my family and I have is going to a movie on Christmas Day or the day after. My parents, my sister and I loved going after the food in our bellies settled on Christmas night. Now, my sister and I continue this tradition on our own. We look forward to picking out "the Christmas movie" every year. It's our time to just be alone and be sisters. Not sure what this years movie will be yet. Got any suggestions?

5.
Holiday music is wonderful. I love it all. However, I can't handle it too soon. I'm usually only good for about two weeks of it. So, yep, I still won't succumb to those all day Christmas radio stations quite yet. A couple of my favorites are "Last Christmas" by George Michael, 'Wonderful Christmastime" by Paul McCartney, anything off of Natalie Cole's Christmas album, "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" by Vanessa Williams and so much more.

6. This year, I'll be spending the holidays in the bay area with my sister's family and her sweet in-laws. It's always been very nice and drama-free. Since my parents passed away, Christmas will never be the same for me but I am blessed to still have loved ones to spend the holidays with.

7.
Holiday wish list: Can I put my dream music job on this list? That, the 10th season of 90210 and another small bottle of Nina Ricci perfume will do just fine. : ) What's on your list this year?

Lessons from my Half-Marathon

Here's a list of all the things I learned from running the Disneyland Half-Marathon yesterday:
  • I have a new-found respect for my body and what it can do.
  • I love energy goos, gels and blocks! They got me through a few tough miles.
  • For this first running event, running the fastest time was not important to me, running with my pace group and enjoying the experience was.
  • While I have a new-found respect for runners in general, I also think that absolutely anyone can run a half-marathon. It just takes lots of training and determination. Seriously, if I can do it, anyone can.
  • I haven't been this proud of myself in awhile and let me tell you, it feels amazing to achieve something like this. It gives me hope that I can conquer anything that I put my mind to. Yes, this is cheesy but true.
  • I now understand the 'runners high'. I can't begin to explain what it feels like but it definitely exits. All I know is that I want to experience it again and soon!
  • Of course I already knew how awesome my friends were but some of them were downright amazing throughout my training and then cheering me on from wherever they were the day of my race. I would like to give a shout out to my awesome sister, Tonya and her husband, my roomie, Gina, Courtney S, Stacy, Em, and Tracy. I love you girls and I know that I couldn't have done this without you. XOXO
These are a few of my favorite pictures from the weekend:

Celebrating Love

Today my sister and her husband have been married 3 years! Woo hoo! They have been through so much in three short years but have overcome it all and are doing pretty darn awesome today. I know I do this all the time but whatever, her blog is just too sweet not to share with you..check out her blog for today's darling post about her husband and their relationship thus far,
Letters for Lucas. Well, happy third anniversary you two! I love you both very much and I look forward to sharing many more wonderful memories together.

It got me thinking about love and how you know you are with the person that you are going to be with forever? Forever is a really really long time. I have trouble keeping the furniture in my room in the same position for too long... Yikes! I know they all say that when you meet the right person, you'll just know, but what if you don't? What if you never get that feeling? Or what if you just never that person? Then what? I suppose the entire dating process to get to that point is fun and by fun I mean frustrating, complicated, and certainly at times absolutely wonderful. Go ahead and call me a hopeless romantic.

So last month, I wrote the following letter to my nephew to put on my sister's blog so I thought that this would be a perfect time to share it on my blog seeing as this is what I'm talking about today. Enjoy!

Dear Lucas,

So, what exactly does it mean to be the "perfect guy"? It’s kind of funny for me to think about you and dating right now but you are not going to be a little guy forever and will eventually be interested in the ladies. Having said that, there’s no rush at all. You have your whole life to stress about girls and learn what makes women tick. Take your time and enjoy the process of meeting your Ms. Right.

Okay, so there’s no beating around the bush, dating can be tough. In fact, maintaining a solid relationship is tough too. It’s all tough. While dating can be complicated and frustrating and at times exhausting, it can be incredible too. When you find someone whom you want to spend your time with and whom you have more than just ‘friend’ feelings towards, it can be one of the best feelings in the world. When you are really involved, everything just feels better. Food tastes yummier, colors are brighter and even music sounds more amazing. I can’t explain it but this all really does happen. I can’t wait until you experience all this for the first time. There is nothing like your first love. So, please call your aunt and fill her in!

Of course you have to consider yourself lucky when that person you care for, cares for you right back. Trust me, so far in my dating life, I’ve had numerous crushes but maybe only a couple guys have actually reciprocated those feelings back at me. It can be very sad and certainly a self-esteem killer, but like the saying goes, there are a lot of fish in the sea.

Now I’m sure your mom and dad have already told you all this or you have picked it up somewhere else no doubt, but a month or so ago I created the ultimate “Perfect Guy” list, so I thought that I would share a few things I learned from my research. While compiling this list may have been fun, it’s really not that practical. There are really no set characteristics girls need to have in their perfect guy. It's all feelings and connections. Having a list will ruin all that. We just need to make sure that we are open to love, every kind of love. It's really not supposed to make sense or fit a mold or a list. Another thing to keep in mind is that most girls just want a guy who can have hot dogs and beers at a baseball game during the day...then wine and dine them at the Met later at night. Personally, I love a guy who can make me laugh. An awesome sense of humor is very important to me. You are already cracking me up at just a year old so I’m sure you’ll be good on that.

Day in Orange County/Missing College Friends

Yesterday I spent a lovely afternoon in the Orange County area having brunch with my sister, Tonya, and some of her girlfriends. We met up to celebrate Tonya's birthday which was on Friday.

I love spending time with her and her sweet friends but I can't help but miss my group of girlfriends from college a lot when I'm with them. Sadly, we all live in different states spread out all over the US so it's very difficult to organize reunions with everyone.

Thankfully, most of us have attended Homecoming back at college. For the past few years I've really tried to make an effort to visit a lot of these girls and spend time with them in their homes. You are on my list if I have yet to come see you. : ) So, what do I miss the most? I miss just sitting with a group of girls that I care about and hearing all their different opinions about whatever we are talking about... from boys to politics. We cover it all! Each and every one of my girlfriends is different and have such unique ideas. We always joke that together we make the perfect women, physically and mentally.

So who is next to come visit me in LA? You are all welcome anytime!

Hot Family Fun in the Summertime

This week I chose the following writing prompt from Mama Kat's writing workshop, "What does summer mean to your family?"

Since we lived overseas, Summers always meant two blissful months back in the good ole' US of A, Tucson Arizona to be exact. This included lots and lots of fabulous shopping excursions to the mall and to our favorite store, TARGET, lots of yummy American meals, numerous theater trips, a few concerts, drives to California, annual doctor visits, baseball games, scrapbooking, many lazy hot afternoons at the pool, BBQ's in our backyard, vegging out in front of the TV and catching up on all the shows we missed during the year. My mom would say that we were playing 'house' during the summer. As teachers, my parents had the summers off to do whatever they heck they wanted, and up until college, I didn't work during the summers either so we were all free to relax and enjoy being back in the states.

Now being in Arizona during the summer, I certainly cannot forget how summer means that it's f-ing hot! I mean, when I say it is hot there in the summer, that really doesn't begin to explain just how hot it is. We are lucky when it's just 100 degrees out because it's usually 110 or higher! Ugh! You could literally fry an egg on the pavement! I don't know how I put up with it for so long... Well, I'll tell you what we did, we cranked up all the air conditioning units in the house, drank plenty of frozen slushy drinks, and spent a lot of time in pools. I am so excited to be spending this summer in my new much COOLER home, Los Angeles.

Of course Summers also meant wonderful reunions with my sister. My sister is 12 years older than me so throughout my middle school and high school years, she was living in the states while we were overseas. I cannot tell you just how excited my parents and I would get on that last flight home knowing Tonya would be at the airport to pick us up. All school year long, we would write letters to each other counting down the days till we would see each other again. Seeing her was definitely the highlight of our summer.

Needless to say, Summers were a very very happy time for us all and I miss having them here this time of year most of all.

Lucas is 1!

My adorable nephew, Lucas, turned 1 today! Never before has a year gone by so fast in my life. I feel so privileged to have been a part of his 1st year of life. I am excited for many many more memories with him.

Yesterday we had a little party for him at my sister's place in San Diego. The guest list was very small, just her husband's sister, his parents and I were invited. It was short and sweet-perfect for a 1 year old. Lucas enjoyed playing with his first ever cupcake, riding around on his new car and having us chase him around the house.

Below are two of my favorite pictures from the party, check out my sister's blog for more cuteness, Letters for Lucas.

I Miss my Nephew!

Just about every month, my sister invites me to write a guest post for her blog, Letters for Lucas. I really enjoy doing it and cannot wait for the day Lucas reads what I wrote it and we can talk all about it. The following was this month's post:

Lucas!

I haven’t seen you in 39 days and it’s killing me…literally! Ok, maybe not literally but I’m really not happy with it. Sure absence makes the heart grow fonder but I already adore you, so the time away from you isn’t changing anything. I understand though, you and your family have been busy little bees the past month and a half. I mean, geez, you all went to Australia! I hope that you remember me when I see you. I’m not too sure what your memory bank is like at 12 months but it would be sweet if you totally recognized me and got all excited to see me. We’ll see…

Fortunately, your mom invited me to come spend two days with you guys in San Diego this week. I am super thrilled to see you and spend some time with your mom. I don’t mean to sound like the doting aunt but you are getting bigger everyday and learning new things about this world so fast. And like your Grandma Adams would say, you are growing older but I’m staying the same age. Right?! : ) I cannot believe that you are going to be 1 year old in two weeks! This year has flown by! Never before have those words been truer than about this past year.

This week your mom sent me a picture of you sitting in one of my old wicker baby chairs from Pakistan. I brought it over for you several months ago when you were much too small to sit in it. I certainly thought it would be a lot longer before you were able to sit comfortably in it. But look at you now; it’s the perfect size for you! It makes me happy to see you in that, that chair is sort of symbol of your family traveling background. Your mom has a lot of neat things around the house from all over the world and I love that this chair is one of them. It’s also fun that I used to sit in it just like you! My parents would have loved to have seen you in it. They would have gotten the biggest kick out of it!

So while I know that living in LA is far closer to you then when I was living in Phoenix, it just isn’t close enough. I have seriously been considering the possibility of moving to San Diego in a year or so to be nearer to you guys. I want to be able to drop by for dinner once in awhile or take you for the day while your mom and dad hang out. I just can’t do those things now living an hour and a half away. We’ll see about it but it’s a definite possibility.

Well, precious nephew, that’s all for this guest post. I love you more everyday.

Love Always,

Aunt Leah

Lucas's First Pool Experience!

My sister and her husband took Lucas to a pool this past weekend in Palm Desert. This was the first time that he has been in one so that was a lot of fun for them. My sister told me that he didn't cry or seem scared at all so that's a good sign. I love pools and swimming so I hope that Lucas will learn enjoy the water like I do. We live super close to the beach so it's only a matter of time before we head there. : )

Susan G. Komen 3 Day for the Cure

Tonight, I met my friend Courtney for dinner. We met last year crewing for the 3 Day Breast Cancer Walk. We were assigned to the same team so we got to know each other pretty well in just one weekend. I am so happy that we've stayed in touch since the event. She actually just moved to the LA area too so it's awesome to have another new person here to hang out with.

Now you may be asking what is the 3 Day? Well, first of all shame on you for not knowing! It was my entire life for awhile there, what with all the training walks and fundraising that I was doing. It is quite the commitment!

Here's what you need to know:
  • You walk 60 miles over the course of three days (a weekend) with thousands of other women and men. Net proceeds from the Komen 3-Day for the Cure are invested in breast cancer research and community programs.
  • You must raise at least $2,300 in donations. But of course this amount can increased based on your fundraising efforts. Pretty soon, I'll be sending out my fundraising email to begin raising money for this year's walk. Thanks to everyone that have donated money to me in the past. I couldn't have done this walk without each and every one of you. XOXO
  • You may either walk the 60 miles or crew it. I walked it in 2008 with my sister in San Diego and I chose to crew last year in Phoenix. This year I'll be walking again with my sister in San Francisco.
  • It is the hardest thing that I have ever done in my life. You think walking, no big deal, right? But oh no, 60 miles is no picnic! Just take a look at all my ailments when I walked: numerous blisters all over my feet (even on the bottoms and between toes), severe "3 Day Rash" all over feet and ankles, bad sunburn on my arms, painful calf muscles, and the list goes on with a few embarrassing ones...
  • It is the most rewarding experience of my life. Seeing women currently going through chemo walking next to you just takes your breath away. These are incredibly strong people. You walk for them.
  • I am so happy that I did this with my sister and that we are taking it on again this year. She was really my motivator throughout the walk. We shared many tears and laughs. Just imagine her and I outside in a small pink tent and me not being able to move without crying! That's quite an image, huh?!
One person is diagnosed with breast cancer every three minutes in the United States. That's why I'm walking so far. To do something bold about breast cancer. For more information check out the 3 Day website.

8 months old

Lucas turned 8 months on Saturday and I just had to share this picture of him on here today. He is such a happy baby! For more adorable pictures and info on this little man, check out my sister's blog, Letters for Lucas. It is such a sweet blog and I am sure that you will quickly fall in love with her and him.

I am so lucky because my sister sends me a picture on her phone of Lucas every single day! Sometimes even more than one and occasionally, I'll get a video of him giggling. Those are my favorite and I can't help but teary eyed over them. Nothing in this world makes me quite as happy as this guy. Lucas has my heart!

I actually got something from Lucas for Valentines Day. Today I received a Valentine Bouquet from him but not the kind that you think. It's way cooler than that! Its a little piece of paper and this is what it says, "this handmade valentine is embedded with tiny wildflower seeds that will sprout when planted." Isn't that the neatest thing ever? I absolutely love it! Talk about watching our love grow! Huh?! I've recently gotten into gardening so this is perfect for me. I look forward to planting it and watching it grow.

Getting to Know you...

Last night after my roomies and I got home from our different nights out, we spent about 4 hours in our living room catching up on each other lives and then we decided to play this game, TableTopics. It is very simple; each card has a question on it and you just take turns answering them. They are so much fun and I encourage everyone to get them. Thanks to my sister for getting them for me a few years ago. There is still so much that my roommates and I don't know about each other and these sometimes insightful questions are a perfect way to learn more.

Some of the highlights we had last night were:
- What do you miss about childhood? Gina and I miss the freedom and innocence and Swati doesn't really miss childhood! Haha
- If you had the means how would you address the problem of homelessness? Swati talked about a genius method that I guess they are working on in Santa Monica, to actually give these people homes to look after and then jobs that will pay for them.
- What language would you like to speak fluently? Gina said Hebrew, Swati said Hindi and Arabic and I said an Asian language like Japanese or Chinese.
- Would you be likely to survive in the wilderness? We all answered "Hell No!"
- What is your favorite book and movie? Swati loves "Lolita" and "Apatow Oeuvre", Gina loves "The Giver" and "My Fair Lady" and my answers were "Lovely Bones" and "Moulin Rouge"
- What do you most enjoy about being single? We all love the freedom to do whatever we want whenever we want to do it.

"It’s the things in common that make relationships enjoyable, but it’s the little differences that make them interesting."

-Todd Ruthman

Leah's in LA!

So after reading my sister Tonya's blog, Letters for Lucas for the past 4 months, I have decided to take the plunge and create my very own blog. My two very close friends, Leslie (My NY Plate) and Tracy (Brooklynnight) have inspired me to create this blog too, props to them for helping me create the name for the blog! So I wanted to wait for a big change to start it and just yesterday I moved to LA so here we go! I'm a little nervous about putting my thoughts out there into the world for everyone to read and critique but I know that I've got a lot of people out there who love me and want to hear about my life.

Here are my top 4 reasons for creating a blog:
-Share and stay connected with friends and family
-Document my experiences by keeping an on-going record
-Celebrate this new chapter in my life
-Be part of the "blogging club"

So now that you know why I have started a blog, here's why I moved to LA:
-Be closer to my family in San Diego
-Break into the music business
- Be apart of all that is LA; the good, bad and ugly

Well friends wish me luck with this blog and my new adventure in LA!
