Mama Kat's writing assignment this week is: It was a bad burn. Tell about the worst sunburn you ever received. How did that happen!?!
Oh man, I really can't choose just one. Let's just say I always have a bottle of Aloe Vera close at hand. I have had plenty of really really bad sunburns. Most of them usually happen because I have fallen asleep in the sun or I'm doing something fun and don't even realize how much time I've been out or when was the last time I applied sunscreen.
The picture above was from my trip two years ago to Australia. Apparently, you really are closer to the sun over there and the sun completely destroyed my pale skin after walking around downtown Melbourne for only 2 hours! I certainly learned my lesson the hard way.
I know how important it is to protect your skin when you are in the sun and thankfully, I've fully recovered from all my bad sun burns. Now I always make sure to lather on the sunscreen even if I'm not sure if I'll be outside or not. No skin cancer for me!
Youch, that looks so painful. I burn easily too and sometimes by the time I get the kids all sunscreened I'm already burnt.
ReplyDeleteOh I hate sunburns! That looks like it was really painful.
ReplyDeleteVisiting from Mama Kat's!
Ouch!! Your skins so fair that you need SPF 70!! How many times are you going to do this to yourself?! Apply sunscreen often and maybe bring an egg timer the next time you lay out so that in case you do fall asleep, it will alert you to turn over or reapply. Ouch!! Again.
